The Office of Senior Special Assistant To The Governor On Community Engagement,OSSACE under the watch of Honourable Bode Obanla
recorded another spectacular landmark as eminent citizens accompanied him to submit the NEEDs Assessment Report of Ondo North Senatorial District to Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa on Monday.
The official presentation was not only endorsed by two deputy governors the duo of Dr. Olayide Adelami and Alhaji Lasisi Oluboyo,the present and former respectively but equally participated in the handing over of the document to Gov. Aiyedatiwa.
The NEEDS Assessment Report was the final document prepared by the OSSACE Advisory Council processed from the initial Compendium of the Community Engagement exercise undertake by Hon. Obanla and his Team last month across the entire Ondo North.
The Adv. Council members led the Chairman and Secretary, Honourable Timehin Adelegbe,the Member House of Representatives, MHR for Owo/Ose Federal Constituency and Hon. Kolawole Babatunde, former,MHR and Special Adviser to Gov.of Ondo State respectively coordinated the transformation of the document into implementable version.
Gov.Aiyedatiwa after receiving the document thank the leaders and people of Ondo North for their support and for believing in his SSA,Obanla in charge of OSSACE.
Aiyedatiwa paid glowing tribute to Obanla for his dedication, discipline and courageous dispositions towards his government and the development of Ondo North Senatorial District.
He thank Obanla profusely for his contributions and commitment allying with the objective of the OSSACE office that despite no resources or vote for the office but Obanla was able to deliver beyond doubt.
Aiyedatiwa before the eminent citizens of Ondo North prayed that not only God will reward Obanla but promised repeatedly and emphasized that he will equally reward Obanla for his yeoman efforts.
He corroborated his stand on Obanla’s deliverables and attainment by citing the applaud he received from Prince Tokunbo Kayode, SAN an eminent Akoko Leader and former Minister.
Saying,”I read all the article of Prince Kayode, SAN and fmr.minister who applauded us for creating the Community Engagement Office and for appointing,Obanla a square peg in a square hole to man the strategic position”
He observed that it is the clout of Obanla that he used to recruit and assemble veterans and political leaders into the Advisory Council and the Local Government Community Engagement Committes.
He concluded by promising that he will act accordingly to implement the report and also refer instruct the Budget and Planning office to adopt and reflect the details in the 2025 budget.
“I will also recommend this report to all Elective and Public offices holders and various intervention agencies like NigerDelta Development Commission, NDDC, Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, OSOPADEC,State Universal Basic Education Board,SUBEB for adoption” Aiyedatiwa added.
In his opening address, Hon.Adelegbe thanked Gov.Aiyedatiwa for his unparalleled achievement through the creation of the Community Engagement Office and for appointing Obanla, a total community man to man the office.
Adelegbe described Obanla as the best performing appointee as evidence in his activities within short time in office which made the governor to reposed such high confidence in him.
He also thank Aiyedatiwa of being the first governor to adopt the bottom-top approach to governance for excellent effective empowerment and development.
“This report is an enlarged manifesto of the People of Ondo North Senatorial District after the first Community Engagement by the OSSACE which shows you are already preparing ahead of the election.
Adelegbe begged Aiyedatiwa to handle the document with utmost care by handing it over to competent, committed and responsible officials to execute saying that was why it was simplified into various sector for easy execution.
The Adv.Council Secretary, Hon. Babatunde popularly called Amechi by his political admirers while giving the vote of thanks expantiated on the usefulness of the report as a vital document for all political or elective office holders to adopt for Ondo North development.
Amechi pleaded with the governor to study the document which is the NEEDS Assessment Report of the yearnings of good people of Ondo North calls for accelerate implementations.
Amechi hinted that this vital document is another material for electioneering campaign in Ondo North.
Meanwhile,Obanla in his opening speech profusely thanked Gov.Aiyedatiwafor deeming if fit reposing confidence in him as an appointee saddled to oversee such a strategic office.
Obanla gave a brief insight into his entrants into the Community Engagement Arena and how he was able to find his feet and conquer all the inherent challenges associated to public engagement at this critical period.
He thank the leaders of Ondo North most especially the me bers of the Advisory Council headed by Hon. Adelegbe and Amechi as well as other leaders engaged in preparing the final report.
He also give kudos to the members of OSSACE Team and the LG. Engagement Committees for the supports rendered.
Obanla promised the governor that the people of Ondo North are solidly behind him and can not wait to see the implementation of their NEEDS Assessment Report being implemented to fast track rapid development in their various Communities.
