The Federation of Ese Students Union (FESU) is calling on the Ondo State Government to take immediate action to construct the deplorable Ese Road. This critical infrastructure connects the Ese community to key destinations, including the community of the Hon. Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Afin Akoko, Ogbagi Akoko, and Irun Akoko.
As the sole connecting road for the four communities in the Akoko North West Local Government constituency, the Ese Road plays a vital role in facilitating economic, social, and cultural activities. However, its current state of disrepair has inflicted immense suffering on the community, hindering development and progress.
The road’s poor condition has been a longstanding issue, hindering other development projects in the community. We are aware that the governor has recently approved some road projects, but unfortunately, the Ese Road is not included.
We urge the Ondo State Government to add the Ese Road to the next list of roads to be constructed. This will not only alleviate the suffering of the community but also unlock the economic potential of the area.
The construction of the Ese Road will have numerous benefits, including:
– *Improved Access to Essential Services*: Better healthcare and education facilities will become more accessible.
– *Enhanced Economic Opportunities*: Trade and commerce will flourish, creating new opportunities for growth.
– *Boosted Tourism and Cultural Exchange*: The area’s rich cultural heritage will be showcased, attracting tourists and promoting cultural exchange.
– *Increased Quality of Life*: Ese residents will enjoy improved living conditions, with better infrastructure and amenities.
We call on the Ondo State Government to take immediate action to address the plight of the Ese community. We are confident that the rehabilitation of the Ese Road will have a transformative impact on our community and the general well-being of the people.
Signed,
ADEBAYO DAMILOLA FESTUS.
President, Federation of Ese Students Union (FESU)
