The Youth of Okeagbe Akoko, under the banner of unity and respect for our traditional institutions, strongly condemn the recent derogatory and disrespectful utterances made by Sheikh Labeeb Lagbaji against our revered Kings and Community Leaders.
Sheikh Labeeb’s comments, made in a manner that disregards the age-long respect accorded to traditional rulers, are not only offensive but also capable of inciting unnecessary religious and communal tension. It is deeply disappointing that a religious figure, who ought to be a symbol of peace and decorum, would speak so senselessly to the royal fathers of Okeagbe as though he himself has no king in his own community.
The youth of Okeagbe Akoko will not fold their arms and watch any individual, no matter how highly placed, sow seeds of division and disrespect in our land. We remain committed to peace, unity, and the protection of the integrity of our heritage and leadership structures.
We, therefore, issue a 72-hour ultimatum to Sheikh Labeeb Lagbaji to tender a public apology to the Okeagbe Kings and Community Leaders. Failure to comply with this demand will leave the youth with no option but to explore every lawful and civil means to defend the honor of our land.
We urge all indigenes and friends of Okeagbe Akoko to remain calm, united, and vigilant as we collectively uphold the dignity and peace of our community.
