This was the center of discussion as the youth leaders of the party held a meeting to address issues related to the progress of the party at the Ondo State APC secretariat on Thursday.
The meeting which was convened by the Youth leader of the party in the state, Comrade Adeyemo Olalekan was attended by the local government youth leaders and the three (3) Senatorial youth leaders of the party.
Top of the agenda was the unity of the party and the youth leaders unanimously called for unity among leaders and members of the party, emphasizing the need for a common front.
Adeyemo said, “We are here as youth leaders of our party to, most importantly call for unity among the members and the leaders of our party. No army goes to war with a divided house, we cannot afford to lose focus.
“The progressives are the hope of Nigeria as a nation and we must not take our eyes off the ball. We appreciate our Governor, Honorable Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for youth inclusion in his administration. It is unprecedented in the history of our state that a youth, particularly a youth leader in our party will be appointed as a commissioner for youth. We are indebted to the Governor.”
The youth leaders also expressed satisfaction with the leadership of the party chairman in the state, Engineer Ade Adetimehin who they described as a man who truly loved the party and its members.
As 2027 general elections draw near, the youth leaders have launched a grassroots movement for the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. They noted that the President has worked hard to earn reelection in 2027.
They also called on young persons who are yet to register with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as voters to explore the new window of opportunity provided by the commission to do that.
The youth leaders also commend the efforts of the two ministers from the state; the Minister of Interior,Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo and the Minister for Youth development, Hon.Ayodele Olawande for the consistent support for the party.
“We are sending a note of warning to anyone trying to cause confusion or division within our party. Our leaders are working together and we don’t want their unity of purpose to change.
“We appreciate other political appointees who have been supporting the youth structure of the party in the state too and we call on others who have not been reaching out to do so as we can do a lot together.” Olamilekan concluded.
