YOUNG MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENTISTS FORUM (YMLSF NATIONAL) EXPRESSES SOLIDARITY WITH HON. OLUBUNMI TUNJI-OJO AND COMMENDS HIS EXEMPLARY LEADERSHIP
The Young Medical Laboratory Scientists Forum (YMLSF) expresses its unwavering support for the Honourable Minister of Interior, Hon. (Dr.) Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and firmly affirms the authenticity of his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate, as officially verified and clarified by the NYSC authorities.
According to the NYSC’s statement, Hon. Tunji-Ojo was initially mobilized in 2006 but could not complete his service at that time. He was remobilized in 2019, duly served at the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) in Garki, Abuja, and was issued his NYSC discharge certificate in 2020, following a delay occasioned by a minor printing error. The clarification from the NYSC has laid to rest all doubts and confirms his full compliance with national service requirements.
It is unfortunate that some individuals have chosen to circulate misleading narratives instead of appreciating the Honourable Minister’s transformational leadership and commitment to national progress. Such unfounded claims should be regarded as baseless and mischievous attempts to distract from his commendable public service record.
Hon. Tunji-Ojo’s outstanding performance at the Ministry of Interior speaks volumes. He has demonstrated vision and efficiency by clearing over 204,000 passport backlogs within three weeks, reducing processing time to under three weeks, and introducing innovations such as contactless biometric passports, e-visa systems, and automated e-gates at airports. His reforms have also led to the decongestion of correctional facilities, securing the release of over 4,000 minor offenders, while significantly enhancing the operational capacity of the Federal Fire Service.
These achievements reflect the Honourable Minister’s passion for innovation, accountability, and excellence—principles that align perfectly with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. His work continues to restore public confidence in governance and strengthen Nigeria’s image both within the ECOWAS subregion and across Africa.
The YMLSF, representing thousands of young professionals dedicated to the advancement of science, health, and nation-building, calls on Nigerians to remain focused on the tangible impact of Hon. Tunji-Ojo’s reforms rather than give attention to resolved or fabricated controversies.
We stand firmly behind his purposeful leadership and join millions of Nigerians in commending his unwavering dedication to the progress and prosperity of our dear nation.
Signed:
MLS Adeola-Oyekan Joshua
National President
