The maiden edition of the Okitipupa & Environs KidsCon 1.0 has been hailed as a landmark achievement in Ondo South, bringing together over 50 schools and thousands of excited students in a colourful display of talent, culture, and creativity. The event marked the first time KidsCon would hold in Okitipupa and its surrounding communities, and it exceeded expectations in every way.
Schools from Okitipupa, Ilaje, Irele, Ese-Odo, and neighbouring towns trooped to the venue in impressive numbers, creating an atmosphere filled with unity, energy, and youthful brilliance.
Speaking at the event, the Coordinator and CEO of KidsCon, Architect (Mrs.) Funmi Bankole, expressed profound gratitude to the Honourable Minister of Interior, Hon. (Dr.) Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, emphasizing clearly that he is the sole sponsor of the Okitipupa & Environs KidsCon 1.0. She highlighted that without his generosity, passion for children, and love for his people, this maiden edition would not have been possible.

Throughout the programme, students and teachers expressed overflowing joy, offering sincere praises and heartfelt prayers for the Honourable Minister. They celebrated him for giving children in Ondo South the opportunity to participate in KidsCon without the barrier of long-distance travel.
From the enthusiastic pool of participants, 10 schools progressed to the second stage of competition, producing three outstanding winners based on creativity, coordination, costume, stage presence, and overall excellence.

1st Place: Mercury Secondary School, Okitipupa
2nd Place: Apoi National Secondary School, Ese-Odo
3rd Place: Blossom International College, Okitipupa
The prizes were presented to the winning schools by Dr. Charles Bankole, bringing prestige and excitement to the award ceremony.
The raffle draw added an extra thrill to the day, as Tosanwunmi Omolara of Christ Anglican Model College, Igbokoda emerged as the lucky winner of a brand-new bicycle, drawing applause and cheers from the audience.
In addition, every participating student received free school bags, food, drinks, and biscuits, courtesy of the Honourable Minister of Interior — a generous gesture that left lasting smiles on the faces of the children.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including education officials, school principals, respected community leaders, teachers, parents, and stakeholders, all of whom praised the vision and effort behind KidsCon’s expansion into Ondo South.
