INTEGRITY COUNCILLORS,
ONDO STATE,
NIGERIA 🇳🇬
27TH JANUARY, 2026
AN OPEN LETTER TO HIS EXCELLENCY, DR LUCKY ORIMISAN AIYEDATIWA, THE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF ONDO STATE ON:
THE NEED TO URGENTLY ADDRESS THE PERPETUAL DISDAIN AND EMBARRASSING TREATMENT THAT ONDO STATE COUNCILLORS ARE SUBJECTED TO SINCE ASSUMING OFFICE ON 26th FEBRUARY, 2025.
• With utmost respect to our Distinguished Leader and father, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, the Executive Governor of our dear Ondo State. We recognise and value your leadership strides and honour your fatherly roles, especially before our election which clocked a year on January 18, 2026.
• Concisely, we would hit the nail on the head to avoid time wasting and stress. We have endure too long, the embarrassment we have been subjected to since we were elected Councillors and representatives of our people in our different Wards of the State.
• There is no traceable history in Ondo State when Councillors were this reduced to mere Dummies within political space. It’s regrettably disheartening as Representatives of our people, duly elected and sworn-in, yet we suffer lack of recognition within our Political Party as stakeholders and also lack freehand to perform our legislative duties as enshrined in our Constitution.
• Despite the enormous resources and allocation to our respective local government, our salary and welfare package is nothing compare to the responsibilities attached to our office. We have maintained there’s nothing honourable about elected Councillors that trek and take OKADA to office. We don’t ask for expensive official car. Give us common one with less financial cost for effective service delivery and representation, if such gesture can be graciously extended to LCDA Chairmen, Leaders of the Legislative House, Local Government Secretaries, our esteemed Royal Fathers and others from the Local Government Income.
• Your Excellency, we understand you once instructed that all elected Councillors should be incorporated into Stakeholders Meeting. We also understand you appealed to the Executive Chairmen to carry the Councillors along. These Chairmen are unrepentant and unanimous in their lack of transparency and conspiracy against accountability.
• Your Excellency, it seems the Hon. Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs is deliberate in his indifference attitude about our welfare. We appeal to your leadership to address these issues mentioned and restore our confidence and inclusiveness in our Party.
• The Legislative leaders that ought to speak out have lost their voice to conspiracy and selfishness. Many of them are hell-bent on sabotaging our common struggle. Hence, we cannot leave our destiny into their hands and whatever is good for them is also good for all.
• Your Excellency, we reafirm and reiterate our unwavering loyalty and support to your leadership and Our EASE Agenda of your administration.
