We, the people of Akoko, are crying out in anguish and despair as our community is plagued by a spate of brutal and senseless killings. The lives of our loved ones are being cut short and snuffed out without remorse, leaving us in a state of perpetual fear and uncertainty as the next victim is unknown.
The recent events unfolding in our once peaceful domain (Akoko) are nothing short of horrific and scary. Killers are on the loose, striking without warning, and leaving behind a trail of death and destruction. The lack of formal announcements of arrests or any meaningful action from the authorities saddled with the sole responsibility of safeguarding the people and their properties is deafening.
We commend the Member of the House of Representatives, the people’s choice *Hon. Ife Ehindero* for speaking out against these heinous crimes, and we are equally calling on the Members of the state House Assembly to take immediate and decisive action from the state legislative chamber. We urge them to make frantic efforts to nip this evil in the bud and restore peace to our troubled communities in Akoko.
The following questions beg for answer; How many more lives must be lost before we see decisive action? How many more families must be torn apart by these senseless killings? We demand justice for the victims and their families. We demand protection for our people.
We call on the government, security agencies, and all stakeholders to join forces and put an end to this reign of terror. We will not rest until our community is safe again.
*Enough is enough!!!*
