Prince Olayinka Stephen Akerele, a House of Assembly aspirant for Akoko North-West Constituency II, has described the 50th anniversary of Ondo State as a critical moment to reaffirm the ideals of peace, unity, and people-driven leadership.
Speaking with journalists in Akure during activities marking the state’s golden jubilee, Prince Akerele noted that the milestone reflects five decades of resilience, stability, and collective progress since the creation of Ondo State in 1976.
He commended past leaders of the state for laying strong foundations that have sustained peace and developmental growth across Ondo State.
“From 1976 to date, Ondo State has benefited from leadership that promoted unity and progress. This golden jubilee should challenge us all to deepen development, particularly at the grassroots level,” he said.
Prince Akerele emphasized that the anniversary should go beyond celebration, urging citizens to renew their commitment to unity, active civic participation, and accountable governance.
According to him, sustainable development can only be achieved through selfless, people-oriented representation that prioritizes the welfare and aspirations of the masses.
He concluded by congratulating the people of Akoko North-West Constituency II and all residents of Ondo State on the historic milestone, expressing optimism for a more united and prosperous future.
