The Ondo Youth Alliance for Tinubu (OYAT), led by its Director-General, Thalis Apalowo, on a continued grassroots youth engagements tour, visited Owo and Ose Local Government Areas as part of ongoing youth engagement efforts aimed at mobilizing support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
In Owo, the delegation was warmly received by the OYAT Local Government Coordinator, Hon. Opeyemi Adekosa, alongside his ward and unit executives and a large, enthusiastic crowd of supporters. Addressing the gathering, OYAT Director of Programs and Strategy, Comrade Abiola Obanoyen, emphasized the strong ties between the community and the Honourable Minister of Interior, Hon. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, noting that his wife hails from Ehin-Ogbe in the historic Owo Kingdom. He urged residents to support President Tinubu’s second-term bid, citing key infrastructure projects such as the ongoing dualization of the Benin-Owo-Akure road as evidence of the administration’s commitment to development in the region.
Speaking further, the OYAT DG, Thalis Apalowo, called on the people of Owo to come out in large numbers to mobilize and vote for President Tinubu in 2027. He highlighted the impact of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), describing it as a transformative initiative that has enabled many students to remain in school through tuition support and monthly stipends.
The OYAT team also visited Ose Local Government Area, where community leader, Engr. Babatunde Gbalajobi, expressed confidence in President Tinubu’s re-election, attributing it in part to the strong backing of Hon. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo. He assured that the people of Ose would continue to stand firmly in support and would not disappoint their own.
In his remarks, Apalowo reiterated that Ondo State is currently enjoying unprecedented federal representation, with three ministers holding key portfolios. He described this as a significant advantage for the state and urged citizens to reciprocate by supporting the President at the polls. He further noted that the administration’s youth-centered policies, particularly in the education sector, are already yielding positive results, with more undergraduates able to continue their studies without fear of dropping out.
Apalowo also urged the people to remain consistent in the mobilization stride as OYAT’s major missions of galvanizing over one million votes and empowering young Ondo people are still in top gear.
The events were attended by OYAT directors, local government OYAT leaders, youth groups, community representatives and leaders of various local organizations, all of whom reaffirmed their commitment to the collective goal of ensuring President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
