The outcome of the APC primary election in the Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency remains officially pending, as the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress in Abuja has yet to release the final, certified results. Despite this, collated figures from across the 23 wards in the constituency indicate a clear lead for Dele Omosehin.
Based on the available ward-by-ward results, Omosehin has emerged with the highest number of votes among all aspirants who contested in the primary. While these figures are yet to receive formal ratification, they reflect a strong showing and widespread support across the constituency.
A significant factor contributing to his performance is the backing he enjoys from two major political movements. The Aseyori Political Movement, widely regarded as one of the most influential grassroots structures in Ondo South, threw its weight behind Omosehin, mobilizing substantial support in his favor. In addition, the Asejere Political Movement also endorsed his candidacy, further strengthening his base and expanding his reach among party members.
This dual support structure sets Omosehin apart as the only aspirant in the race with such broad based political alignment, a development that many observers believe played a decisive role in the outcome reflected in the preliminary results.
For now, all eyes remain on the APC’s National Working Committee in Abuja, whose official announcement will determine the final standing of the aspirants. Until then, Dele Omosehin and his supporters await confirmation of what the ward results already suggested which is a leading position in the race for the party’s ticket in the Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency.
