A frontline aspirant for the Ondo State House of Assembly seat in Akoko, Ibrahim Oladotun Azeez, has formally announced his withdrawal from the APC Primary election, citing the need to preserve unity and strengthen the collective interest of his political structure and constituency.
In a statement addressed to his constituents, Azeez said the decision followed extensive consultations and careful reflection in line with the position of the BTO Political Structure, which he described as one committed to peace, inclusivity, and collective development.
According to him, maintaining harmony within the political fold and avoiding divisions that could threaten shared aspirations informed his decision to step aside from the race.
The former aspirant also declared his full support for Tiamiyu Sunmonu, expressing confidence that a united front would improve the chances of electoral victory and effective representation.
Azeez appreciated party leaders, stakeholders, youths, women leaders, and traditional rulers across the constituency for their support throughout his political journey.
He further urged his supporters and loyalists to remain calm and committed to the collective vision of the political movement, stressing that politics should foster unity rather than division.
“I want to sincerely appreciate and thank our revered party leaders, stakeholders, and the vibrant youths across the constituency for their steadfast support, encouragement, and commitment throughout this process.
“Let us proceed as one family, one organization, and one united force, ensuring that we present a cohesive front in the forthcoming election,” he stated.
Azeez also thanked all those who stood by him during his aspiration, assuring them that their loyalty and trust would not be taken for granted.
