The Ondo North Senatorial District of the Ondo State Youth Network (OSYN) hereby formally dissociates itself from the proposed solidarity walk organized in support of the second term re-election bid of Senator Olajide Ipinsagba, representing Ondo North Senatorial District in the National Assembly.
This resolution was reached after extensive meetings of leaders representing the six Local Government Areas that constitute the Senatorial District in the Network: Akoko North-East, Akoko North-West, Akoko South-East, Akoko South-West, Owo, and Ose. The decision is predicated on the persistent neglect of youth-focused development within the district, particularly the absence of sustainable empowerment programmes and meaningful employment opportunities for our teeming unemployed youths.
While Ondo North Senatorial District OSYN remains steadfast in its commitment to promoting active youth participation in governance and democratic processes, we maintain that any initiative purporting to ensure a deplorable representation for the “Ondo North youths” must be an initiative of doom. The planned solidarity walk does not reflect the position of the majority of the youths in the district.
Furthermore, this dissociation is due to the growing concerns regarding performance and representation. During previous engagement with Senator Olajide Ipinsagba, specific demands were presented, including the implementation of youth empowerment schemes, facilitation of employment opportunities, and other developmental interventions. Regrettably, these commitments remain largely unfulfilled to date.
Consequently, Ondo North Senatorial District OSYN emphatically disclaims any affiliation with the said solidarity walk. We wish to state categorically that youth support in the 2027 general elections will be predicated on verifiable performance, tangible developmental outcomes, and fulfilment of campaign promises rather than ceremonial endorsement and politically motivated walk.
We reaffirm our dedication to constructive engagement, good governance, and the advancement of youth interests across Ondo North Senatorial District.
