In the spirit of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration, Hon. Ekunnsi Musibao demonstrated his commitment to grassroots development and women empowerment by disbursing grants totaling ₦3.5 million to women and community groups within Akoko North East Local Government.
As part of the empowerment initiative, 100 women received grants of ₦30,000 each to support their businesses and improve their livelihoods. In addition, a cash prize of ₦500,000 was presented to the winning team of a competition organized to mark the festive period. The event attracted a large gathering of community stakeholders, youth leaders, women leaders, and political leaders from across Akoko North East Local Government.
Among the dignitaries present at the event were Hon. Akadri Atinuke, Hon. Adeyemi Saliu, youth leaders, women leaders, and other notable leaders from various wards and communities within the local government area.
They commended Hon. Ekunnsi Musibao for his generosity and dedication to the welfare of the people.
Speaking during the event, Hon. Ekunnsi Musibao expressed appreciation to the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, describing him as a visionary leader whose commitment to empowering Nigerians continues to inspire many. He prayed for God’s continued guidance, protection, and wisdom upon the Minister as he serves the nation.
Also speaking, Hon. Akadri Atinuke praised the Minister for creating opportunities for Nigerians through employment initiatives and various empowerment programmes. She noted that his people-oriented leadership has positively impacted many lives and encouraged beneficiaries to make good use of the support provided to them.
The event concluded with prayers for peace, progress, and prosperity in Nigeria, as well as renewed calls for unity and community development among residents of Akoko North East Local Government.
