Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Ondo Youth Alliance for Tinubu (OYAT) in Akure North Local Government have reaffirmed their commitment to the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, declaring that the administration’s reforms and achievements remain unmatched by the opposition.
The declaration was made during a youth engagement meeting organized by the Ondo Youth Alliance for Tinubu led by the Director General, Thalis Apalowo. Present at the program were Hon. Saka Yusuf Ogunleye, a former commissioner for Youth and Director General of Grassroots Movement for Tinubu(GMT); Akure North APC Chairman, Hon. Ayodele Atanniyi; GMT Coordinator for Akure North and former Akure North Council chair, Hon. Rotimi Adeleye. Also at the strategic engagement meeting were seven members of the legislative council of Akure North LG, several APC ward chairmen in the local government and the twelve OYAT ward coordinators led by the Akure North OYAT Coordinator, Comrade Femi Omojola.
Speaking at the meeting, Hon. Rotimi Adeleye described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the foremost unifying force within the APC across Nigeria, while noting that the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo (BTO), has become a major unifying figure for the party in Ondo State.
According to Adeleye, “Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the unifying factor for the APC in Nigeria today, while Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo remains the unifying factor for the APC in Ondo State. Their leadership has continued to strengthen the party and inspire unity among members.”
He expressed confidence that President Tinubu would complete two terms in office, emphasizing that the administration’s bold reforms are already laying the foundation for long-term economic prosperity.
Adeleye highlighted the removal of fuel subsidy, the implementation of tax reforms and the establishment of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as landmark policies that are positively impacting millions of Nigerians, particularly the young people.
He challenged opposition parties to present credible alternatives to the policies already being implemented by the Tinubu administration.
“The opposition must tell Nigerians exactly what they intend to do differently. Are they going to remove NELFUND and deny students access to education financing? Are they going to reverse the tax reforms that are designed to strengthen the economy? These are the questions we must ask. We must engage them with facts and present the achievements of this administration whenever they attempt to mislead the public,” Adeleye stated.
Also speaking, Hon. Dele Atanniyi, Akure North APC Chairman, commended the performance of the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, noting that the ministry has witnessed unprecedented transformation under his leadership.
“The Ministry of Interior was largely regarded as a quiet ministry before Hon. Tunji-Ojo assumed office. A ministry that reels out only holiday announcements. Today, it has become one of the most visible and impactful ministries in the country due to his reforms, innovation and commitment to service delivery,” Atanniyi said.
On his part, Hon. Saka Yusuf Ogunleye, GMT DG, urged party members and youth mobilizers to intensify grassroots engagement and continue educating citizens about the benefits of the Tinubu administration’s policies.
While addressing the youth, OYAT DG, Thalis Apalowo, assured them that the youth alliance will pursue deliberate and purposeful impacts in their lives. Apalowo promised the government of President ‘Bola Tinubu will continue to implement programs and build sustainable infrastructure that will stimulate Nigerians’ personal growth and the country’s inevitable development. Thanking Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo for being the sole backbone of OYAT, he emphasised on the three core mandates of the alliance; employments, empowerments and transformational training for the young people in the state.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment by APC leaders, ward structures, councillors and OYAT coordinators across Akure North to strengthen mobilization efforts ahead of future elections and sustain support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
