There was a mammoth crowd in Ikota town, Ekemefa Ward, Ifedore Local Government on Friday August 28 ,2026 as Hon. Fisayo Ajisafe and his supporters officially defected from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Ajisafe, an Ikota-born entrepreneur and community development advocate, was warmly received by the APC Party Chairman in Ifedore LGA, Hon. (Prince) Tunde Adegbonmire, and members of the Local Government Executive. The chairman received the defectors on behalf of the State Chairman of the party.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Adegbonmire said the coast is now clear for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC candidates to win by a large margin in next year’s general election. He also praised Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for his infrastructure revolution and critical intervention and empowerment programs in Ifedore, which he said were responsible for the massive defection of opposition members to the APC.
The chairman assured Ajisafe and his supporters that “in APC, there is no founder, no joiner. All members are equal.”
In his remarks, Mr. Ajisafe commended the party chairman for his proactiveness and for creating room for everyone in the party. He pledged to work assiduously for the party’s victory in the forthcoming general election.
The atmosphere was electric as a mammoth crowd of party supporters lined the streets from Ikota to welcome Ajisafe and his team into the ruling party.
Known for his grassroots engagement, educational support, and community investment outside office, Ajisafe is expected to bring fresh energy and experience to strengthen APC in Ekemefa Ward and across Ifedore.
