‘The lawmaker representing Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency, Hon. Festus Akingbaso, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of elder statesman and renowned Yoruba leader, Chief Reuben Fasoranti, describing his death as a monumental loss to Nigeria, the Yoruba nation, Ondo State and Akure people in particular.
Akingbaso described Baba Fasoranti as a patriot who lived a fulfilled life dedicated to the promotion of national unity, democratic values and the advancement of the Yoruba cause. He noted that Nigeria had lost a revered voice of wisdom, courage and principled leadership at a critical moment in the nation’s history, particularly as the far-reaching and painstaking reforms being implemented by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu continue to yield results.
According to him, Baba Fasoranti’s enduring commitment to national cohesion and the welfare of the Yoruba people made him an invaluable figure whose counsel, experience and moral authority would be sorely missed. The lawmaker further acknowledged the late elder statesman’s remarkable contributions to governance and nation-building, noting that his legacy of selfless service, integrity and dedication to the common good would continue to inspire generations.
Akingbaso, on behalf of his family, associates and the good people of Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency, extended his heartfelt condolences to the Fasoranti family, Akure Kingdom, government and people of Ondo State and Nigerians across the country and abroad.
He prayed that Almighty God would grant the bereaved family the strength to bear the irreparable loss and grant the departed elder statesman eternal rest.
