Hundreds of market women across Akoko North Federal Constituency benefited from a large-scale empowerment programme organised by Hon. Moruf Tosin Ibrahim, popularly known as Hon. Murphy, as part of activities marking this year’s Democracy Day celebration.
The initiative, facilitated through the Tosin Ibrahim Foundation and coordinated by Comrade Wealthy, formed the second phase of an empowerment scheme targeted at supporting market women and strengthening small-scale businesses across the constituency.
The beneficiaries received various business support materials and essential items aimed at boosting their commercial activities, increasing productivity, and improving their economic well-being. Organisers said the programme was designed to provide practical assistance to women who play a critical role in sustaining local economies.

“On this Democracy Day, I celebrate with you all and reaffirm my commitment to the progress and prosperity of our people. Together with President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we will continue to build a better Akoko North and a greater Ondo State. Your support, your prayers, and your hard work remain the driving force of our shared vision,” he said.

The Democracy Day celebration concluded with beneficiaries expressing gratitude for the support, while stakeholders commended the initiative as a practical example of grassroots-focused leadership and democratic dividends in Akoko North Federal Constituency.
