Residents of Ministry/Olokun Street, Arigidi-Akoko, Ward 2, have received a major boost to their electricity supply following the facilitation and handover of a 500KVA transformer by the Member representing Akoko North-East/Akoko North-West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Ifeoluwa Babajide Ehindero.
The intervention comes after residents of the community reportedly endured several months of power outage, affecting households, businesses and other activities within the area.
The transformer was formally presented to the community on behalf of Hon. Ehindero by Hon. Bankole Muhammed, Legislative Assistant 1 to the lawmaker, who said the intervention reflected the commitment of the legislator to responding to the needs of communities within the constituency.
Speaking during the handover, Muhammed said;
“This intervention is a direct response to the concerns of our people. Hon. Ehindero understands that electricity is not just about light; it supports businesses, improves security and makes everyday life easier for families. We are pleased to see this community receive a solution to a challenge they have faced for a considerable period.”
He added that the lawmaker remained committed to identifying genuine community needs and facilitating interventions capable of improving the quality of life of constituents.
Expressing appreciation on behalf of the residents, Mr. Ibikule, a resident of the area, described the intervention as a major relief to the community.
“We are very happy and grateful for this transformer. We have suffered for a long time without electricity, and this intervention means a lot to us. We appreciate Hon. Ehindero for listening to our concerns and responding to the needs of the people.”
The intervention is part of ongoing efforts by Hon. Ehindero to address infrastructure and basic service needs across communities within the Akoko North-East/Akoko North-West Federal Constituency.
The lawmaker has reiterated his commitment to ensuring that communities across the constituency receive attention and meaningful interventions based on their needs.
