The Owa of Ogbagi Land, His Royal Majesty, Oba Victor Adetona, Odagaragaja II, has expressed support for the candidacy of Hon. Remilekun Niyi Aribisala, Esq., the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidate for Akoko North-West State Constituency II in the Ondo State House of Assembly election.
Aribisala received the royal blessing during a courtesy visit to the Owa-in-Council at the Owa’s Palace in Ogbagi-Akoko, where he was warmly received by the monarch, members of the traditional council and a large gathering of supporters, elders, youths and party faithful.
The candidate was accompanied by the Director-General of the Remilekun Niyi Aribisala Campaign Organization, Hon. Yahaya Jegede, and the PDP Chairman in Akoko North-West Local Government, Alhaji Usman Jamiu, among other political stakeholders.
Addressing the Owa-in-Council, Aribisala said his aspiration was motivated by his desire to contribute to the development and prosperity of Akoko North-West Constituency II.
He assured the royal father that traditional institutions across the constituency would be carried along in his legislative agenda, stressing the importance of involving traditional councils in matters relating to development and governance.
Aribisala also pledged to provide purposeful, committed and people-oriented representation if elected, promising to work towards laying a solid foundation for sustainable development, unity and progress across the constituency.
Responding, Oba Victor Adetona expressed his readiness to support and rally around the APM candidate’s aspiration.
The Owa further charged Aribisala’s supporters to return to their respective wards and communities and work diligently towards translating the candidate’s ambition into reality at the polls.
A major highlight of the visit was a special prayer session led by the Owa-in-Council. The monarch, alongside his Council of Chiefs and other people present, offered prayers for Aribisala’s candidacy and his aspiration to represent Akoko North-West Constituency II in the Ondo State House of Assembly.
The occasion also featured messages of goodwill, encouragement and solidarity from political leaders, elders, youths, party faithful and other stakeholders who attended the gathering.
Party leaders from across the constituency and beyond were present at the event.
The APM candidate for the Akoko North-East/Akoko North-West Federal Constituency, Prince Daniel Omolola (PDO), also attended the royal engagement.
The visit ended with renewed calls for grassroots mobilisation and support for Aribisala ahead of the election.
